Shafayet Hossain Apollo

I started photography from childhood, when I was at 11 or 12 years of the age, with the ‘Yashica-D’ 120-TLR camera from helping and learning from my respectable father. And my first time of life, I took only a photo of my respectable mother, while my father was beside me. It was the beginning of my journey for photography until today it is remained-Now I’m a freelance professional Documentary and Advertising photographer in Bangladesh. I have been completely dedicated to photography for the last 24 years since 1998.

Since 1998 to 2011 I worked as a professional photographer (my designation: Associate Director-Photography) in a leading advertising agency in Dhaka (Unitrend Limited. Affiliated with McCann-Ericsson World Group). On September 30, 2011, I resigned from my position at an advertising agency to devote in freelance photography. In addition to my profession, I like to photograph people, lifestyles, portraits, festivals, landscapes, nature, wildlife, fine arts, etc.

I finished my B.Sc. education with 1st class-4th place in Leather Technology [Now-Institute of Leather Engineering and Technology] from the University of Dhaka. I worked as a leather technologist for 10 months, and I realized that my future does not lie there, so I resigned and started working as a photographer. Instead of being a leather technologist, I became a professional photographer.

I’m a ‘Life Member’ of “Bangladesh Photographic Society” [BPS].
I was a ‘National Rifle Shooter’ of Bangladesh.
I’m a ‘Life Member’ and ‘Executive Member’ of “Gulshan Shooting Club”, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Publications: Hundreds of photographs have been published in different medium like -billboard, press ad, poster, pack design, TV commercial, brochure, calendar, books, etc. in local company and multinational companies
